Sahih Bukhari Hadith number: 13

Musadd portrayed the hadith from us, he described it from Yahya, he described it from Shu’bah, he described it from Qatadah, he described it from Anas Khadim Rasoolullah, he described it from the Holy Prophet. Al-Shu’bah likewise told Hussain Muallim, he explained from Qatadah, he described from Anas, he described from the Nabi that the Nabi supposed that not even one of you resolve to be straightforward except if he did not need what he needs for himself.

  The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said while a group of Sahaabah was sitting around him, 'Swear allegiance to me that you will not associate anyone with Allaah, you will not steal, you will not commit adultery.' Thou shalt not kill thy children, nor willst thou slander anyone unjustly, nor disobey (Allah) in any good thing. Whoever of you fulfills (this covenant), his reward is with Allah and Whoever does any of these (bad deeds) and does not repent is punished in this world (according to Islamic law), then this punishment will be recompensed for him (the sins) and whoever commits any of these (evil deeds). I was afflicted and Allah hid his (sin), then his (matter) is with Allah, if He wills He may forgive and if He wills He may punish.
